Our Story 'comfort with purpose'

Tunc and Fatih are two brothers who share a passion for textiles. This passion has been passed down from their grandmother, who was involved in silk production in Cide, Turkiye during the early 19th century. Cide was a small harbour along the Silk Road, which has been an important trade route throughout history. Together they have accumulated nearly 50 years of experience in the industry, which began during their childhood in Switzerland and continued with their education and textile work in Turkiye. Fatih has since moved to Canada and has embarked on a meaningful venture - Minoa, a brand that aims to make a positive impact through circular luxury.

Tunc and Fatih developed a passion for textiles in Istanbul, where they were introduced to the thriving textile industry. Tunc focused on textiles during his Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts. Meanwhile, Fatih pursued a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics and a Master’s degree in Statistics, with his thesis concentrating on Turkiye's strong textile industry. 

Fatih spent almost 20 years as a luxury buyer for Harry Rosen, one of Canada’s most prestigious high-end retailers. During this time, he realized that sustainable luxury could have a more significant impact than mediocre products. Fatih firmly believes that everyone should have access to luxurious textiles and an authentic look that offers an optimal quality-price ratio. The two brothers aim to provide functional, sustainable, luxurious, and tasteful home accessories that will remain in use for many years.

The two brothers’ passion for textiles is evident in their dedication to creating practical, eco-friendly, and stylish products that withstand the test of time.
